“ya see chief, the problem is the light on the number two is broken..”
“i think i’m gonna be sick”
Whatever the market will bear. People will try to make money till it’s saturated and can carry no more. There are some poker web sites closing now. Don’t know about the “little league” I believe people will try and keep it 18 and over..
More like the CSI franchise. We now already have WSoP - Europe…can WSoP - Asia, WSoP - Australia, etc. be that far behind?
lol w/e the market seems appealing they will try anything.
that is how reality shows started. First with Survivor then the Real World and now all this crap you see on tv
The WSOP isn’t primarily a media event like a television or game show and was running long before it got any TV coverage at all. The basis of the tournament is the buy ins from poker players with the media end of it more of a sideshow than anything. The problem with a college or little league world series is that participants wouldn’t have the buy ins for this and unlike game shows and the like, the proceeds come from the buy ins primarily instead of, say, getting media sponsorship to pay for the thing.
However in saying all this it’s possible I guess but I can’t see enough interest in these segments especially since the money would have to come from the media (i.e. advertising revenue). What makes the WSOP main event so significant is that they are crowning a player held to be the world champion in addition to all that money being won and you really couldn’t reproduce this hype or the hype you’d need with these segmented groups.
